These UNC basketball players starred against Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium

North Carolina basketball has seen plenty of sensational performances against rival Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils hold a 46-39 advantage against the Tar Heels at Cameron, but UNC has won back-to-back games in Durham ahead of Saturday’s matchup (6:30 p.m., ESPN).

It’ll be the first meeting between the storied programs since Carolina ended Duke’s season and legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski’s career at the 2022 Final Four.

UNC, which celebrated the 30-year anniversary of its 1993 national championship earlier this season against NC State, has earned 13 wins at Cameron Indoor Stadium in the past 30 years.

Here’s a look at some of the top performances for the Tar Heels during that stretch.

Donald Williams 

The Final Four MVP of UNC’s 1993 national championship squad, Williams capped his impressive career with a pair of big-time shooting performances in wins at Duke. He had 20 points – including 15 in the second half – in an 87-77 win in 1994. Williams had 24 points in UNC’s 102-100 two-overtime win in 1995. The senior’s mid-range jumper broke the final tie of the game.

Rasheed Wallace 

Wallace is famous for more than his iconic phrase, “Ball don’t lie.” In his first game at Duke as a freshman in 1994, Wallace had 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting and five rebounds on Grant Hill’s senior night. Wallace had 25 points on 10-of-11 shooting before fouling out with 19 seconds left at Duke in 1995.

Jerry Stackhouse 

Like Wallace, Stackhouse had a memorable night at Duke in ‘95. The sophomore scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the two-overtime win. This is the game that featured Stackhouse’s electric one-handed reverse dunk.

Shammond Williams

In his sophomore season, Williams had a career night with 26 points in an 84-78 win at Duke. The guard had eight points during an 11-0 run to help the Heels clinch the 1996 road victory.

Joseph Forte

Forte reached 1,000 career points in an 85-83 win at Duke in 2001. The sophomore had 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting, six assists, three steals and a career-high 16 rebounds in an all-time performance.

Tyler Hansbrough 

No one in the history of Carolina basketball had more success at Cameron Indoor Stadium than Hansbrough, who finished with a 4-0 record in Durham. Hansbrough had 27 points and 10 rebounds in an 83-76 win at Duke as a freshman. He had 16 points in a 79-73 win as a sophomore and another double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds in a 76-68 win as a junior. He capped his impressive run with 17 points and six rebounds in a 101-87 win in his senior season on the way to winning a national championship.

Ty Lawson

As a freshman in ‘07, Lawson had 15 points and four assists in Durham. He had 10 points at Duke as a sophomore before going nuclear as a junior with 25 points – including 21 in the second half – five assists and four rebounds in his final game at Cameron.

Danny Green

Like Hansbrough, Green never lost at Cameron Indoor Stadium. He had 18 points – including a vicious dunk over Greg Paulus – eight rebounds and seven blocks in 2008. He added 15 points and five rebounds in 2009.

Kendall Marshall 

UNC’s lead guard led the charge with 20 points, 10 assists and four rebounds in an 88-70 win at Duke in 2012.

Brice Johnson

Johnson dominated in the post from start to finish with 18 points and 21 rebounds in a 76-72 win at Duke in 2016.

Luke Maye 

Forever known as the night Zion Williamson blew out his shoe with President Barack Obama in attendance, Maye stole the show with 30 points and 15 rebounds in an 88-72 win in 2019. He became just the second Tar Heel to drop 30 on Duke, joining Billy Cunningham.

Caleb Love 

Love scored 20 or more points in each of his first two games at Duke. He had 25 points and seven assists in a 91-87 win in 2021. He followed that with 22 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 94-81 victory last season in Coach K’s final game at Cameron.
