UNC women's basketball transfer portal tracker: Kennedy Todd-Williams, Destiny Adams leaving

A pair of Tar Heels have announced that they're leaving the UNC women's basketball program.

Sophomore forward Destiny Adams and junior guard Kennedy Todd-Williams posted notes on social media Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, saying their time in Chapel Hill had ended.

"Since the age of 10, Carolina has been my dream school, and committing after my freshman year of high school was a momentous achievement," Todd-Williams, a Jacksonville native, wrote. "I am proud to have been a part of the success of the program and to have helped my team become a top 25 school."

A second-team All-ACC selection this season, Todd-Williams averaged a career-high 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds as a junior. She scored 16 points in the Tar Heels' season-ending loss at No. 3 Ohio State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Todd-Williams made 52 3-pointers to lead the Tar Heels, and she ranked second on the team in minutes per game (32.0) and scoring average (13.4) behind Deja Kelly.

Adams averaged 4.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game.

"I will truly miss the Tar Heel fans and community, as they have shown me nothing but love," Adams wrote in her transfer announcement. "After talks with my family, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal. I will forever cherish all of my experiences and memories made in Chapel Hill."

The Tar Heels also will be without Eva Hodgson next season. She came to UNC as a graduate transfer from William & Mary and led the team in 3-point shooting percentage at .417, making 50 of her 120 attempts from long range.

As for incoming freshmen, UNC coach Courtney Banghart and her staff have signed the No. 5-ranked recruiting class for 2023, according to ESPN. That group is led by five-star center Ciera Toomey, ranked No. 4 by ESPN in the Class of 2023; four-star guard Reniya Kelly (No. 30); four-star power forward RyLee Grays (No. 90) and four-star small forward Laila Hull.
