The coroner has identified the two relatives who were killed Friday morning in a crash in Fresno County — one of them a 4-year-old boy.

Adrian Gonzalez, 27, of Fresno and Enrique Flores Jr., 4, of Del Rey were identified as the two people killed in the collision just before 8 a.m. at Jefferson and Bethel avenues near Del Rey.

Gonzalez was Flores Jr.’s uncle, the cororner’s office said in an update.

Gonzalez was driving a Honda sedan with boy and appeared to have run a stop sign, CHP reported at the scene.

A Chevrolet Suburban going north on Bethel without a stop sign wasn’t able to stop before the collision, CHP said. The Chevy broadsided the passenger side of the Honda.

Both vehicles ended up in an orchard to the east of the intersection.

Gonzalez and Flores Jr. were pronounced dead at the scene, CHP said.

It was not clear why the Honda driver did not stop, whether he was distracted or blinded by the sun.

A family of five in the Suburban was transported with minor to moderate injuries, CHP said.
