'Unconditional support and love': Damion Lee appreciates Stephen Curry's video on game winner

PORTLAND — Damion Lee finally saw it.

Stephen Curry’s reaction video to his brother-in-law and former Warriors teammate hitting the game winner to lift Phoenix past Dallas in the season opener was all love for Lee.

“That’s just excitement,” said Lee before Friday’s game at Portland. “That’s him being excited and embracing what it was. It’s that unconditional support and love, which is how we’ve always rolled.”

Curry was so excited, he woke up his kid in the house screaming, “YEAH DAM! STICK WITH IT! STICK WITH IT!” and more.

“Way to go D-Lee,” Curry said at the end of the video.

Lee scored all 11 of his points in the fourth quarter, hitting a trio of 3s before his baseline jumper over Spencer Dinwiddie gave the Suns the two-point lead with 9.7 seconds left.

Phoenix trailed by as many as 22 in the second half.

Curry wasn’t the only one Lee heard from after Wednesday’s thriller.

“Across the board, text messages, calls from family, coaches and all that,” Lee said. “All the people that rock with me and have been with me and they all know the journey and they embrace every successful moment that I have.”
