Undawn, Garena's mobile open-world zombie shooter, opens pre-registrations

Undawn will be available for players in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand this June.

Singapore-based games publisher Garena announced on Thursday (11 May) that it has opened mobile pre-registrations for Undawn, its upcoming open-world zombie-plagued survival shooter title, ahead of its June launch in Southeast Asia.

Garena Undawn is set to launch on iOS and Android for players in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand this June.

Players can pre-register on the official Undawn website, the App Store, and Google Play. Those who pre-register can stand to win exclusive rewards such as a permanent Motorcycle and permanent M3 Shotgun Skin upon Undawn’s official launch.

As of the time of writing, Undawn's official website shows over 5.7 million players have pre-registered.

What is Undawn?

Undawn is an open-world zombie-plagued survival shooter, where players will fight for survival while scavenging for vital resources, navigating treacherous terrain, and battling against relentless zombie hordes.

First announced back in April 2021, the game combines both Player vs Player (PvP) and Player vs Environment (PvE) gameplay. Players will be able to create a custom character that best fits their desired playstyles.

While the zombie hordes and other humans will be the primary threat for players, they also need to manage their vitals and physical conditions in a treacherous open world that also features dynamic weather and day-night cycles.

Players can choose to brave the world of Undawn alone or as part of a group. But whether they're a lone wolf or part of a pack, players must scavenge for resources and craft materials to build a base and create weapons to protect themselves.

Undawn is built using Unreal Engine 4 and will offer a huge open world that pushes the boundaries for both graphics and multiplayer gameplay.

The game is developed by Tencent Games’ LightSpeed and Quantum Studios, with Garena being its publisher in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
