Add Lamar Advertising of Tallahassee to the list of Florida State University football fans riled up about their team's getting shut out of the College Football Playoffs.

Earlier this week, the company set up two digital billboards quoting FSU head football coach Mike Norvell saying, “What is the point of playing the games?” Norvell made the quote in a statement released on Sunday, referring to not making this year's playoffs for the national championship.

The two billboards are located along Mahan Drive and near Orange Avenue at South Monroe Street. The outdoor advertising firm manages billboards, transit displays and brand signs.

Its local general manager, Danny Funderburg, said his office is full of FSU fans. After the football team was snubbed by the College Football Playoff committee, Norvell's quote went up in lights.

“Nobody paid for it,” Funderburg told the Tallahassee Democrat. “It’s just something we did on our own.”

Fans upset by CFP snub of undefeated FSU team

On Sunday, the 13-0 Seminoles were eliminated from the forthcoming playoffs following the CFP selection committee's decision to bump them from their prior fourth-place standing.

As the No. 5 team, FSU made history in the CFP by being the first Power 5 team to finish undefeated, win the conference, and not be in the playoffs.

Jordan Travis, the starting quarterback for FSU, suffered a lower left leg injury when the team played against North Alabama on Nov. 18, which ended his season.

On Wednesday, Lamar changed both billboards to display the number 13 to continue supporting the team. Funderburg said that's because FSU had a 13-0 record and because Travis' jersey number is 13.
