Underage drinking sting catches multiple Dunwoody stores selling alcohol to minors
Several Dunwoody stores were caught selling alcohol to minors, officials say.

Dunwoody officers and Georgia Department of Revenue agents recently went undercover to perform an underage alcohol sales operation.
During the operation, 17 businesses were checked. Thirteen of the 17 stores refused to sell alcohol to minors.

The four stores found to be in violation include:
BP – 4368 N. Peachtree Road
Walmart – 4725 Ashford Dunwoody Road
Perimeter Bottle Shop – 4719 Ashford Dunwoody Road
Total Wine – 124 Perimeter Center West
The clerks who sold the alcohol to a minor were cited and released by officers. Officials said they will face administrative sanctions from the Department of Revenue.
The police department commended the businesses below for helping to keep the youth safe and sober.

Exxon – 77 Perimeter Center East
CVS – 1610 Mount Vernon Road
BP – 5418 Chamblee Dunwoody Road
Dunwoody Chevron – 5465 Chamblee Dunwoody Road
Walgreens – 5511 Chamblee Dunwoody Road
Dunwoody Beverage – 1418 Dunwoody Village Parkway

According to the Georgia Department of Revenue, more than 150 of Georgia’s youth die each year from alcohol-related causes.
Excessive drinking contributes to over 4,300 deaths among people below the age of 21 in the U.S. each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states.
