The message on Wednesday said that the university is complying with a recent emergency regulation from the State University System Board of Governors. This requires institutions to remove technologies published in the State University System Prohibited Technologies List from any university owned device. Network traffic associated with these technologies is to be blocked as well.

According to the message, the installation or use of Tencent QQ, TikTok, WeChat, VKontakte, and Kaspersky on any university-owned device, network, or to conduct any university business, including marketing and advertising, is prohibited.

Personal devices will not be impacted unless using the UNF wireless or wired networks.
