UNF to host live, televised Jacksonville mayoral debate in partnership with Action News Jax

Action News Jax and the University of North Florida are teaming up to host a live, televised Jacksonville mayoral debate between Republican candidate Daniel Davis and Democrat Donna Deegan.

The debate will be happening Thursday, April 20 at 7 p.m.

It will be held inside UNF’s Lazzara Performance Hall and moderated by Action News Jax Anchors John Bachman and Tenikka Hughes.

“The University of North Florida is proud to host this debate in partnership with Action News Jax,” UNF President Moez Limayem said in a news release about the debate. “This is an important race for our city’s future, and UNF is pleased to provide a forum for mayoral candidates to discuss the issues that matter most to Jacksonville’s voters.”

In the First Election on Tuesday, March 21, Davis and Deegan gained enough votes to move on to a runoff in the city’s General Election, which will be held on Tuesday, May 16.
