Unforgotten trailer shows first look at Nicola Walker's replacement in action

ITV has released the trailer for the upcoming fifth series of Unforgotten, providing fans with a first look at Nicola Walker's replacement in action.
Following the tragic death of Walker's DCI Cassie Stuart at the end of series four, Derry Girls star Sinéad Keenan will be filling in as DI Sunny Khan's (Sanjeev Bhaskar) new partner DCI Jessica James.
The trailer reveals that the detective's first case is to investigate human remains found in a recently renovated property in Hammersmith – and she warns her team that things are going to change.

"Full disclosure: I don't intend to run this team like she did," she says, coldly referring to the late DCI Stuart.
It first appears as though the murder took place in the 1930s, but it quickly becomes evident that the crime was much more recent, as forensics discover "lots of blood" and the police break the news to a heartbroken family.
There's plenty of drama to come, though fans will surely feel the absences of both Walker and Lewis Reeves, with the latter star revealing that he would not be returning for series five due to scheduling clashes with his role in Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything.

All hope is not lost, though, as Reeves has left the door open to a future return as DC Jake Collier.
"I spoke to Chris Lang, the writer, and Andy Wilson, the director, and if it goes for season 6, I'm sure they'll welcome DC Jake Collier back – [that’s] what I’m hearing, so fingers crossed," he said.
"But it's really nice now because I really love the show and I get to watch it now as a fan when it comes out, but [I'm] really gutted not to be part of the team."
Unforgotten returns on Monday, February 27 on ITV1 and ITVX.
