UNH men's soccer team beats Binghamton, to host America East final on Sunday

Nov. 11—The UNH men's soccer team is headed back to the America East championship game.

Eli Goldman and Moise Bombito scored off headers and Paul Mayer kicked in a goal from close range with 19 minutes remaining, lifting the Wildcats past Binghamton 3-0 in Thursday night's semifinal at Wildcat Stadium.

UNH, the tourney's No. 1 seed, improved to 13-4-0 overall. The Wildcats, the league's regular-season champions, advanced to Sunday's championship back at Wildcat Stadium at 2 p.m. They will play the winner of Thursday night's other semifinal between Vermont and Albany.

Vermont beat UNH in last season's AE tourney final.

UNH goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat made no saves in earning the shutout. Binghamton's Mats Roorda made five saves.

Earlier this week, UNH earned three of AE's major awards: Yannick Bright, the midfielder of the year; Bombito, defender of the year, and the UNH coaching staff, under head coach Marc Hubbard, the staff of the year.

First team all-conference honors went to Yannick Bright, Bombito, Goldman, Johan von Knebel and Concord's Chris Pinkham.
