Unhappy elephant gets a little help from Sinatra
This sad elephant is soothed by Sinatra
Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
36-year-old Kavaan is being assessed
to see if he can be moved to a sanctuary
after spending most of his life in poor conditions
One expert found an unusual way
to cheer up the nervous elephant
by singing Sinatra's popular hit "My Way"
(SOUNDBITE) (English) FOUR PAWS INTERNATIONAL EXPERT, AAMIR KHALIL, SAYING:
"So, I am not a good singer but I started to take him behind, and to train him, and sing to him, so that he would accommodate me into a relationship. And I like the song Frank Sinatra, I don't know, I do it 'My Way,' and this was my breakfast with him all the last days and the nights. I think he hates me, and he hates Frank Sinatra now, but yeah, that's it."
Experts hope to move Kavaan to Cambodia
after a court ruled that all of the animals at Islamabad's zoo
must be set free
or transferred to a better environment
