UNICO Charity Ball preparations underway

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — UNICO, an Italian American charity organization, is preparing for a big fundraising event this weekend.

The UNICO “A Night on Broadway” Charity Ball is going to be held Saturday evening.

The organization will be honoring Melanie Naro of Dunmore as the Unican of the Year.

Organizers say she is one of the group’s most dedicated members.

“It’s very, very exciting event. It’s our biggest event of the year where we honor a particular member in our group for their commitment to our community their commitment to service, and this year honor, our honor is Melanie Naro from Dunmore, and will be having that this Saturday night at the Radisson Scranton,” said UNICO Member Sarah Effertz.

Proceeds from the event go right back into the community. The event is at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel.
