Unidentified man struck and killed near Gibson Exit

UPDATE July 14, 2023: The pedestrian has been identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Trosclair of Thibodaux. Troopers are still searching for the suspect vehicle and driver. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Troop C at (985) 857-3680 Ext. 0.

Original: Louisiana State Police are investigating a hit-and-run that claimed the life of an unidentified man.

Police found a white male laying in the left lane of LA 90, about 2 miles east of LA 20 Gibson exit, shortly before 2 a.m. July 13. The man had suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a New Orleans area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The injuries the man sustained suggested the man was struck by a vehicle, but at the time the make, model and color of the suspect vehicle is unknown, according to a spokesman with the department.

Police requested that anyone with information about the incident contact Troop C at (985) 857-3680 Ext. 0.
