Uniforms and equipment meant for training of Ukrainian soldiers in UK stolen during transportation

Uniforms and equipment designated for Ukrainian soldiers undergoing training in Great Britain were stolen from a truck during transportation from the Netherlands, the Dutch Defense Ministry reported on Feb. 26.

The theft took place the week before, during a night stop in Great Britain when unidentified individuals cut open the tarpaulin of the cargo compartment of a civilian truck, making away with some of the essential items.

These stolen goods were part of the supply chain for Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers engaged in military training in Great Britain as part of Operation Interflex. Dutch soldiers also take part in it.

Local police are already investigating the theft, the statement said.

The UK is a leader in the training of Ukrainian troops.

The UK Defense Ministry reported on Jan. 9 that 33,000 Ukrainian soldiers underwent training since June 2022 as part of Operation Interflex, which is set to continue in 2024.
