Union Leader Power Poll: Near-status quo of the top 10 teams

Sep. 19—What happens when all 10 teams in the New Hampshire Union Leader High School Football Power Poll win on a particular weekend?

The rankings stay nearly the same for a second straight week, that's what happens.

And so it was this past weekend as all 10 clubs prevailed in various ways. Some won in blowouts (No. 3 Bishop Guertin, 68-7 over Goffstown) and some eked out victories (No. 9 Dover over Memorial in overtime). Londonderry rallied in the second half to top Windham, leaving the Lancers in the top spot for the fifth straight week, dating back to the final poll of 2021.

Dover's close win resulted in the poll's only change, a minor one at that. The Green Wave and Souhegan flip flopped, with the Sabers moving from No. 10 to No. 9.

The stage is set for rivalry weekend for many Division I teams, most notably Londonderry hosting No. 5 Pinkerton Academy on Friday at 6 p.m.

The Astros-Lancers contest is the only one involving two ranked teams. A Friday night Seacoast game of interest pits Dover at Spaulding of Rochester in a battle of 3-0 teams.
