- We've learned tonight through the United Food and Commercial Workers Union that on March 8, the union representative conducted a grievance meeting over safety issues at that Boulder King Sooper store in Monday's shooting. Following a safety walk, among the issues raised was a partially obstructed fire exit.

At another King Soopers in the Boulder area, the union rep says he raised the possibility of an active shooter situation, specifically in reference to blocked pathways and exits in the store. The union says the company's representative dismissed the possibility. The union says these issues, along with when and how store members will return to work and also compensation during the interim, will be discussed as soon as possible.
