United flight to Chicago returns to Seattle after windshield cracks

A United Airlines flight from Seattle to Chicago returned to Seattle after takeoff when the windshield cracked, according to a spokesperson for United Airlines.

Flight 2277 from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport departed at 11:07 a.m. on Tuesday and returned to Seattle at 12:23 p.m.

The Boeing 737-800 carried 166 passengers and six crew members.

According to United, the pilots followed normal procedure and landed normally.

The aircraft was removed from service and customers were assisted to their final destinations.
