United High School hails top students, scholarship recipients

United Local Schools recently celebrated seniors who received honors and scholarships. United Local Schools recently celebrated its seniors during the high school's 41st honors recognition ceremony.

Superintendent Lance Hostetler introduced the Top Ten students of the Class of 2022 – valedictorians Emily McKarns and Sydney Young; salutatorian Trevor McCormack; Caleb Blake; Cody Cope; Joshua Scott; Allison Connor; Jade Watt; Tori Tschappatt; and Madison Painter.

Young introduced National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society students – seniors, Samantha Benner, Parker Berdine, Caleb Blake, Rowen Brinker, Cody Cope, Tyler Dickens, Autumn Fillman, Nevaeh Hamilton, Gabrielle Leek, Julianna Logan, Emily McKarns, Bryce McKenzie, Lauren Satterfield, Ryan Schreffler, Sara Syppko, Jade Watt and Sydney Young; and juniors, Isaac Burke, Madison Cope, Taylor Cope, Riley Dangel, Tori Firth, Andrew Frase, Nevin Hahlen, Grace Hall, Brycen Haynes, Grant Irwin, Ryan Keir, Madison Kibler, Nathan Marhefka, Jack Mercer, Kendall Nelson, Ashtyn Snyder, Emily Stoudt, Emma VonFeldt, Tessa Wasik and Abigail Wolfgang.

During the event, the district also praised students who made the Distinguished Honor Roll during two of the first three grading periods of the year.

Also honored were the district's three foreign exchange students – Claudia Corell from Spain; Jette Van Juechems from Germany; and Zoe Van Vlaenderen Cantons from France.
