I attended the Live Web Stream of the celebration of the event. It was an important event in the history of humanity during this difficult times.

At a time when most media and news bulletins are focusing on what is going wrong in our society, it is inspiring to see that a World Organization like United Nations is conducting events where they have invited Enlightened Masters to share their wisdom, expertise and experiences during International Yoga Day.

Many delegates were seen taking notes as Sadguru spoke. He answered questions with amazing clarity, insight and understanding. I am sure that in due course of time, the society will become ready to explore the inner dimensions of human being.

Sadguru said, "Man has produced great machines. Every machine has a user manual. But Man does not know that his body is one of the greatest machines which nature has produced and he has no user manual to use the human body machine." Enlightened Masters have the user manual of human body machine. They know tools and techniques as to how to operate the human body machine.

Yogmata Keiko Aikawa also spoke during the event. She spoke in Japanese and it was translated in English. She is the first non-Indian woman to achieve samadhi and enlightenment. Samadhi is a state of being where one goes beyond the mind and thought. It is a dimension beyond time and space of our physical 3D dimension world. She trained with Yogi's and Timeless Siddha Masters of the Himalayas. Her teachings are based on her personal experiences and consist mainly of yoga and meditation. Mahayogi Pilot Baba is one of her Gurus and Mentors. You can learn more about Yogmata at her website:Yogmata Keiko Aikawa

Rajiv Lulal, a business analyst and strategist from IBM asked a wonderful question to Sadguru. He asked, 'Why does one need a Guru?"

Sadguru replied, " If you go to unknown terrain such as himalayas on an expedition, you will listen to an illiterate sherpa. It is because the sherpa has lived his entire life in the himalayas and he knows the terrain well. You may have many degrees and the Sherpa may be illiterate. Still if Sherpa says, go right, you will go right. Since the Sherpa knows the terrain of the himalayas well, you will listen to what he/she says. Similarly, exploring the inner dimension of the human mind is unknown territory. An Enlightened Master has already travelled and mapped the unknown territory. Taking the guidance of a Guru who has already walked the unknown and difficult territory is one of the best and easiest way to improve your life."

"Guru is like a GPS, Guru Positioning System." ~ Sadguru

The focus of the second International Yoga Day was to introduce yoga to the world as an absolute science, removing religious frills. Sadguru said," India has gifted Yoga to the world, now it does not belong to India any more. It belongs to the World." You can learn more about Sadguru at his website:Isha Sadguru

Many associate yoga as a practice of different physical postures. The practice of physical postures is only the beginning. First, you control your body, then you control your breath, and finally you control your mind. Slowly as you progresses in yoga, the practitioner arrives at the practice of meditation. Meditation is the final frontier which culminates in Samadhi experience. It is an amazing adventure in itself.

If you have not been introduced to yoga, take advantage of its many great benefits, enroll in an introductory yoga class. You will experience amazing results mentally, emotional, physically and spiritually.
