'Unity' is the theme for Twinsburg Historical Society Black History Celebration

The Twinsburg Historical Society is presenting this year’s Black History Celebration at 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at the First Congregational Church of Twinsburg, 9050 Church St.

Music and entertainment will be provided by the renowned gospel group Still Under Construction, and the family of Larny Zellner, DonnaShae White, The Blue Diamonds dance team from THS and the Black History Committee will do spoken word.

Guest appearances include Twinsburg Township trustee Tom Schmidt; Mayor Sam Alonso from Reminderville; Kathryn Powers, superintendent of the Twinsburg City Schools; Mark Curtis, Twinsburg City Schools Board of Education; Twinsburg Councilwoman Daisy Walker representing JEDI (Justice, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion) committee; Larnie Zellner Jr, Twinsburg Police Department; and Marvin Bishop, community leader. The Rev. Vicky Smith of Community A.M.E Church will deliver the invocation. Constance Longmire is the facilitator of the event.

Refreshments will be provided by Harmonii Social on Ravenna Road and Sister, a community service organization in Twinsburg Heights.
