University Of Arizona Women's Basketball Game At Cal Postponed

TUCSON, AZ —The University of Arizona women's basketball game against the University of California scheduled for Friday in Berkeley, California, has been postponed due to health and safety protocols within the Cal program, the Pac-12 announced Monday.

Officials from Arizona, which was ranked No. 8 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, said they will work with Cal and the Pac-12 office to reschedule the game at a later date.

The defending national champion Wildcats (14-2 overall, 4-2 in the Pac-12) are scheduled to face No. 2 Stanford on Sunday in the Bay Area in a rematch of last year's national championship game.

However, AZDesertSwarm.com reported that game also may be in jeopardy because Stanford played against Cal the day before the latter program shut down.

Arizona is scheduled to visit UCLA at 6 p.m. MST on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The Wildcats defeated Colorado 75-56 on Sunday at McKale Center, with Arizona senior guard Shaina Pellington scoring 28 points and senior forward Cate Reese scoring 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds.

Thanks to that win, and a 76-64 victory over Utah two nights earlier, the Wildcats moved up two spots —from No. 10 —in this week's AP poll.
