University of Evansville women's basketball reveals Missouri Valley Conference schedule

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The University of Evansville women's basketball team has learned its Missouri Valley Conference schedule for the upcoming season.

Coming off their best campaign in five years, the Purple Aces and coach Robyn Scherr-Wells return 95% of their scoring and have brought in transfers to add more depth in order to move up the conference standings. UE finished ninth out of 10 teams last season, one game ahead of Bradley, and Scherr-Wells has spoken of the importance of adding to the win column.

Unlike the men's schedule, women's teams will open league play in late December. After a non-conference slate that is highlighted by road games at Iowa and Illinois, the Aces start with two home games Dec. 29 and on New Year's Eve against the league's top two teams from last season, Southern Illinois and Missouri State, respectively. The Aces don't have more than two consecutive home games in conference play, but they will have a four-game road trip in February. They will not host Drake or travel to Northern Iowa.

  • Saturday, Jan. 7 @ Illinois-Chicago (2-25, 11th in Summit League)

  • Wednesday, Jan. 11 vs. Indiana State (11-20, eighth in MVC)

  • Sunday, Jan. 15 vs. Northern Iowa (23-11, third in MVC)

  • Friday, Jan. 20 @ Bradley (4-24, 10th in MVC)

  • Sunday, Jan. 22 @ Illinois State (19-14, fourth in MVC)

  • Friday, Jan. 27 vs. Murray State (22-10, third in OVC)

  • Sunday, Jan. 29 vs. Belmont (23-8, first in OVC)

  • Wednesday, Feb. 1 @ Indiana State

  • Saturday, Feb. 4 @ Drake (20-14, sixth in MVC)

  • Friday, Feb. 10 @ Belmont

  • Sunday, Feb. 12 @ Murray State
