Mid-America Christian to celebrate 70 years

Founded in Houston in 1953, Mid-America Christian University's long legacy includes thousands of alumni from around the world. Grown from humble beginnings as a small Bible college to a large campus in Oklahoma City, the university, known as MACU, currently offers 26 degrees with more than 157 program options to students, thanks to its online graduate curriculum.

The university's 70th anniversary celebrations will include a reception for alumni at the original Houston campus location, university-wide activities, fun giveaways and student participation throughout the week.

Over seven decades, the university's programs have expanded to include associates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in subjects ranging from business, counseling, criminal justice and healthcare to marketing, mathematics, science, among others. The university also became a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in 2007.
