University of Scranton professor suspended amid child pornography charges

Feb. 10—A University of Scranton professor is "suspended indefinitely" after police charged him this week with 100 counts of child pornography possession.

Scott J. Kester worked as an adjunct professor in the university's history department. University spokesman Stan Zygmunt confirmed Kester's suspension on Friday.

Kester, 46, of Jefferson Twp., collected about 100 pornographic images of children, including those of toddlers performing sex acts, according to the Lackawanna County district attorney's office.

Kester was released from the Lackawanna County Prison on Thursday on $100,000 bail.
