Unknown Human Skeleton Found In Unused Building At UC Berkeley
Well, Halloween has either come late or very early. A grisly discovery in the form of a human skeleton was made on the University of California’s Berkeley campus recently.
ABC News reported that the remains were found in an unused building in the Clark Kerr complex.
The outlet wrote, “it’s unclear how many years the remains were in the shuttered building on the Clark Kerr Campus, which is a residential hall complex and event space that’s about a mile from the main campus.”
An investigation is pending.
How Long Did The Building Go Unused?
The building hasn’t been used in “many years,” police told the media.
According to CNN, “it is not clear how many years they have been there. There are no outstanding cases of missing individuals from the campus community.”
CNN reported, “the Alameda County Coroner’s Office has also opened an investigation into the remains.”
Is It Known How The Person Died?
Not at this time. CNN wrote, “the cause of death hasn’t been determined.”
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office will be inspecting the “skeletonized” remains, which will hopefully lead them to an answer.
The police said, “we understand that there are many questions and we anticipate that the coroner’s report will provide additional information. We do not anticipate this investigation will disrupt resident activities at the Clark Kerr Campus.”

According to the university’s website, “Clark Kerr is a mini-neighborhood with Spanish-style architecture and tree-lined courtyards.”
It’s approximately “six blocks from the main campus.”
Clark Kerr housing “includes both residence hall and suite accommodations. The suites are single-gender and include a shared bathroom, a common area, and a separate locked entrance. Residence hall floors share a central bathroom and are all gender.”

According to College Gazette, “UC Berkeley was founded in 1868. It was the original university of the University of California System, and the second-oldest university in California.”
