Uno Fitness in Scranton closes

Jul. 22—Uno Fitness permanently closed its location at 3 W. Olive St, Suite 210, in the city after 17 years in business, owner Ray Parchinski said.

It officially closed June 30, and Parchinski said Geisinger will be taking over the space.

"That's really what spearheaded it," he said. "I was very close to opening another location, but after discussing it with my wife we felt we've been at it for almost 20 years and not going forward would give us the freedom to start our next chapter in life."

Parchinski will miss the relationships formed with clients over the years.

"The gym was more of a family-type atmosphere," he said. "We tried to know everybody by name."
