Unwind at Pocono Canna Fest with goat yoga, reiki classes and CBD and hemp demos

If you’ve had a hectic summer, it may be time for a little Zen.

The Pocono Canna Fest brings together cannabis, live music, yoga and reiki classes, and alternative health demonstrations Saturday and Sunday at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert.

Although it’s dubbed a cannabis festival, the focus of the first annual event will be rest and relaxation.

More than 150 vendors are tapped to exhibit, highlighting the latest wellness and self-care trends (hemp-infused products, crystals, incense and homemade beauty products, jewelry and apparel).

Plenty of food and drink

Food vendors will sell staple fairground eats such as burgers, fries, funnel cake, cotton candy, pizza, along with vegan cuisine by Sunflower SC Catering, Mexican eats by Guaco Taco, and small bites by Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Glitteratti Bakery and Scrambl’d Yegs.

For the over-21 crowd, there will be beverages by King Cole Winery, Cork Dork and HillBilly Hooch.

Carnival rides for the little ones will add to the fun.

“It’s a family-friendly event and there’s something for everyone. What this event is is a health and wellness extravanganza with a fun, engaging atmosphere,” said event organizer April Fairfield.

Get a massage or stretch out with goats

The festival kicks off each morning with free guided yoga and reiki classes for all attendees.

On Saturday, Hunlock Creek-based Buttinhead Farms offers goat and baby goat therapy for those wanted to try something a little more silly and animalistic.

On both days, group and individual reiki sound bathing will be led by Lea Living and private chakra healing will be presented by healer, Kelly Fairfield. On-site licensed massage therapists and spiritual healers also will offer services (for additional fees).

Local music on the stage

On Saturday, Cody Templeton and Carl Palmeri are slated to perform from 10 a.m. to noon and the Brian Dean Moore Band takes over from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Cramer Brothers Band will perform noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
