'Haunting of Hill House'

ZANESVILLE − "The Haunting of Hill House" by the Zanesville Community Theatre will continue at 8 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 22 and 29 at the theater, 940 Findley Ave. The show opened on Friday.

Co-directors are Julia Gantzer and Sarah Gantzer. The story is about a paranormal investigator who is allowed to explore a home with a forbidding and sinister reputation, which is overseen by a caretaker.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military and students and $5 for those 12 and younger. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 740-455-6487 or online.

Connecting with support service agencies

ZANESVILLE − Genesis HealthCare System is holding a Community Connection Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Genesis HealthPlex, 2800 Maple Ave. in meeting rooms A, B and C. Attendees can stop by anytime.

One can learn about area support service agencies. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from agencies and learn how they can help them and their family. Genesis Resource Counseling will also be at the event to help with applications for financial assistance if needed.Agencies attending include the United Way of Morgan, Perry and Muskingum counties, Mid-Ohio Mobility Solutions, Area Agency on Aging Region 9, Muskingum County Library System, Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, Muskingum Economic Opportunity Action Group and Muskingum County Job and Family Services.

OSU club schedules watch party

ZANESVILLE − The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Muskingum County will hold a Buckeye Game Day Watch Party Nov. 4 at The Barn, 1947 Linden Ave. The Barn opens at 11 a.m. and official kick-off time for OSU vs. Rutgers is to be announced.

The event will feature the Buckeye Scholarship Big Cash Raffle drawing at halftime. Cash prizes are $1,000, $500 and $250. Raffle tickets are $10 each, three for $20 or 10 for $50. They are available through Bo Coconis or will be sold during the watch party. There will also be a silent auction raffle for OSU spirit items. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.

Church collecting for Operation Christmas Child

GRATIOT − Collections for Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry will have drop-off hours for donations Nov. 13 to 20 at Gratiot United Methodist Church, 345 South St., Gratiot.

Hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 11 a.m. that second Monday. Contact Karla Jones for more information at 740-877-5758.
