Road Watch: Monroe County Road Commission projects for week of Sept. 26
Following are upcoming road construction projects for across the Monroe County Region. All projects are weather permitting:
BEDFORD/IDA TOWNSHIPS
Deer Creek Subdivision off Secor Road
Gerken Paving will cold mill the existing pavement surface and resurface the roads with hot mix asphalt in the Deer Creek subdivision in the latter part of the week. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic when work is being performed.
Rauch Road between Douglas Road and Secor Road
Construction will begin to install a new Cross Tile under Rauch Road between Douglas Road and Secor Road. Rauch Road will be closed to through traffic. The signed detour will include Douglas, Morocco and Secor Road.
Samaria Road between Lewis Avenue and Secor Road
South County Water System will install new water main under Samaria Road and the railroad tracks in Samaria. Samaria Road will be closed to through traffic. Signed detour will include Lewis Avenue, Erie Road and Secor Road. This is expected to last one week.
Section Road between Whiteford Center Road and Secor Road
South County Water System will install new water main along Section Road between Whiteford Center Road and Secor Road. Section Road will be closed to through traffic. Signed detour will include Secor Road and Smith Road.
Stoneybrook and Brookwood Forest Subdivisions off Jackman Road and Dean Road
Gerken Paving will cold mill the existing pavement surface, perform full-depth pavement repairs, and resurface the roads with hot mix asphalt in the Stoneybrook and Brookwood Forest subdivisions. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic when work is being performed.

BERLIN TOWNSHIP
North Dixie Highway between Armstrong Road and Post Road
The MCRC will have a contractor upgrading road signs at the large curves on this road. Traffic will be maintained with minor delays for the crews working.

Dundee Township
Stowell Road between Radka Road and Bigelow Road at the Macon River
The MCRC will have a contractor removing a log jam at the bridge. The road is scheduled to be closed on Tuesday, September 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No detour will be posted due to the short-term duration of the work.

ERIE TOWNSHIP
Summit Street Bridge between Sterns Road and State Line
Miller Bros. will begin deck work on the east half of the bridge carrying Summit Street over Shantee Creek. Two-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout work activities utilizing a temporary paved lane in the shoulder of Summit Street and a lane shift.

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP
Newport South Road between Swan Creek Road and Post Road War Road between Buhl Road and Post Road
The MCRC will have a contractor upgrading road signs at the large curves on these two roads. Traffic will be maintained with minor delays for the crews working.

IDA TOWNSHIP
Ida Center Road between Douglas Road and Lewis Avenue
The contractor will install gravel shoulders on Ida Center Road between Douglas Road and Lewis AVenue in the latter part of the week. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic during the gravel shoulder installation operation.

RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP
Ida Maybee Road between North Custer Road and Dixon Road at the River Raisin
The MCRC will have a contractor removing a log jam at the bridge. The road is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, September 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No detour will be posted due to the short-term duration of the work.

SUMMERFIELD TOWNSHIP
Deerfield Road between Dennison Road and Petersburg City Limits at the River Raisin
The MCRC will have a contractor removing a log jam at the bridge. The road is scheudled to be closed on Monday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. No detour will be posted due to the short-term duration of the work.

WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP
Whiteford Center Road between Smith Road and Little Streams Trail
South County Water System will install new water main along Whiteford Center Road between Smith Road and Little Streams Trail. Whiteford Center Road will be closed to through traffic. Signed detour will include Secor and Sterns Roads.
