Updated snow totals: Hardest-hit Buffalo suburbs slammed with 5-6 feet this week
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A one-two punch of snow pummeled Western New York in recent days, dropping 5-6 feet of snow on some of the hardest-hit Buffalo suburbs since Saturday.
The extreme weather began with a storm that brought blizzard-like conditions last weekend and forced the Bills game to be postponed – and it has hardly stopped snowing since. A second lake-effect snow system dumped more than 2 feet in some areas this week, with more to come.
Here are the latest snowfall totals from Saturday through Thursday morning.
Methodology
Snow totals are published by the National Weather Service, collected from a variety of sources. News 4 Chief Meteorologist Todd Santos went through the data and identified reporting sources that have consistently submitted data throughout the week in order to find uniform, reliable measurements. The following numbers are the result of that process, with a cutoff of Thursday morning. As always, it’s possible some locations received higher snow totals but haven’t yet report their data.
Towns with the most snow since Saturday
West Seneca: 74.8 inches (6 feet, 2.8 inches)
Hamburg: 62.1 inches (5 feet, 2.1 inches)
