Upscale Brazilian restaurant Fogo de Chao to open in Sacramento area. Here’s where

An upscale Brazilian chain restaurant is planning its first Sacramento-area location.

Fogo de Chao is set to replace Mimi’s Cafe at 1104 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville, according to a city permit filing.

There is no set date for the opening but it’s “coming soon,” according to the restaurant website. The Sacramento Business Journal reported that a manager at Mimi’s Cafe was “unaware” of plans to close.

The rodízio-style steakhouse, filed a “major project permit modification,” according to the Roseville city website.

The Brazilian chain plans to expand the interior and patio space, according to the project description details on the online permit.

The Brazilian restaurant chain specializes in providing guests with a churrasco experience, which is a prefix menu selection of premium meats. A variety of cuts on the menu include crispy pork belly, bone-in ribeye and bottom sirloin.

The weekday tableside churrasco price is $49 per person, and the dinner tableside churrasco price is $69 per person.

Fogo de Chao also offers entree dishes for those who don’t want to indulge in the all-you-can-eat churrasco experience. Entrees include Chilean sea bass, lamb picanha and salmon.

Prices range from $22 to $32 during the lunch for the entree dishes. The dinner entrees range from $39 to $40 per plate.
