Upscale NYC restaurant Rosa Mexicano coming to Blue Back Square in spring 2022
An upscale Mexican restaurant known to New York City diners will be coming to Connecticut in the spring. Rosa Mexicano will open at Blue Back Square, the restaurant announced Monday.
Rosa Mexicano has locations in New York, as well as New Jersey, Maryland and Massachusetts. The West Hartford location will be at 51 Isham Road, near the Cheesecake Factory.
“We are so excited to become an integral part of West Hartford’s Blue Back Square,” said Jim Dunn, CEO of Rosa Mexicano Restaurants. “Vibrant, sophisticated, and diverse, this community is a seamless match for the ‘elevated fiesta’ Rosa Mexicano has offered its guests since 1984.”
The chain is known for its traditional Mexican foods, its variety of ceviches and street tacos, its extensive tequila menu and its focus on regional cuisine of Oaxaca, Sonora, Puebla, Michoacan, Baja, Veracruz, Tampico and Mexico City.
Paul Brandes, principal with Charter Realty & Development, owner of Blue Back Square, said several new additions to the dining, retail and entertainment lineup are coming soon to the outdoor mall.
“We couldn’t be more excited for Blue Back Square to be home to Rosa’s first Connecticut location,” Brandes said. “We know the local community will love their contemporary interpretation of authentic Mexican cuisine.”
