Remember when you were, say, 11? And you got a fringe cut in for the very first time, and it felt like the best idea in the entire world, until you ultimately got bored of it, had to grow it out, and ended up with curtains for approximately 3-9 weeks?

Well, HAIM have just taken that very vibe and made it fashion.

This year's Grammys brought a bounty of game-changer hairstyles to the table, from Doja Cat's mullet to Cardi B's pastel dreamscape of a lewk.

But HAIM, who wore custom powder blue Prada, decided to go completely left-field with their hair choice. The gals, usually seen with long, flowing locks, were sporting a more abstract vibe, with panels of hair cut to chin-length. Their signature centre-parts were still in place, but overall they looked both super futuristic and also totally vintage, simultaneously.

It wasn't your typical Grammys hair, but then again, HAIM aren't a typical band. One question remains, though - is this going to be... a trend? Are we all going to be trading in our mullet inspo pics for curtain snaps when the time comes to go for our post-lockdown hair appointments? And more importantly, what is this hair even called? Answers on a postcard.

Band member Este, whose birthday coincided with this year's awards followed up the photoshoot pics with an adorable solo post (curtains still present) captioned: "hi my name is este it’s my birthday today and i just played the fucking grammys. how’s your sunday?"

You can inspect the hair (and decide for yourself whether you'll be curtaining in 2021) below.

Time will tell... ✂️
