The CBS newsmagazine is America's #1 news program. In its 2022-23 season, 60 Minutes was the week's #1 primetime broadcast five times and TV's #1 non-sports primetime program. The program has finished among Nielsen's annual top-10 list for 23 consecutive seasons - a record never approached by another program. 60 Minutes has won more Emmy Awards than any primetime broadcast, including a special Lifetime Achievement Emmy. It has been honored with almost every broadcast journalism award, including 25 Peabody awards for excellence in television broadcasting. 60 Minutes was created in 1968 by Don Hewitt and premiered on the 24th of September on CBS.
