The US Department of Justice disclosed a range of lawsuits against Russian oligarchs and their allies, and also announced the detention of a Russian oligarch Andrey Kostin and his two “associates”, according to the statement on its official website on Feb. 22.

The US Department of Justice charged more than 70 individuals and five legal entities for violating international sanctions and export controls levied against Russia, the agency said.

The assets worth about $700 million are to be confiscated.

Prosecutors also filed a civil forfeiture complaint against two luxury condos in Miami that they say are owned by sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Perevalov. The properties are located at the Ritz-Carlton, in Bal Harbour, prosecutors said, and are valued at approximately $2.5 million,Voice of America reported.

Vladislav Osipov has also been charged with a possible scheme to manage a luxury yacht. Dual Russian and Swiss national Osipov is accused of 17 crimes, including bank fraud, money laundering and sanctions violations. He is also accused of hiding a 255-foot luxury yacht named “Tango” in violation of US sanctions – this superyacht is believed to be owned by Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg, who is also in sanction list.
