US Foods CHEF'STORE opens: Look inside Fayetteville's new grocery and kitchen supply store
Wholesale grocery and kitchen supply retailer US Foods CHEF’STORE opens today at 6 a.m. in Fayetteville.
The 20,000-square-foot store, located at 511 Cross Creek Mall, is the chain’s 91st in the nation and fourth in the Tarheel State, following locations in Charlotte, Greenville and Winston-Salem.
Store manager David Boyd, who manages the staff of 10, said that while the store is open for regular business hours starting Friday at 6 a.m., the grand opening celebration kicks off Saturday at 9 a.m. Among the festivities will be free hot dogs, food samples throughout the store, raffles and games, he said.
He expects a good turnout, and for many attendees to find their new grocery shopping destination.
“We want to be the desired one-stop shop in the Fayetteville market that’s second to none,” he said.

Here’s what else to know before you shop:
What items does it carry?
CHEF’STORE carries fresh produce, meat and cheese; frozen fish, seafood, fruit, vegetables and prepared foods; pantry and baking goods; cleaning supplies; and kitchen utensils, knives, pots and pans.
Who can shop there?
The grocery chain is geared toward restauranteurs, but anyone can shop there. Shoppers do not pay a membership fee, nor is there a minimum purchase requirement.
What time does it open?
Business hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Where is it located?
The CHEF’STORE is on a 2-acre outparcel of Cross Creek Mall, next to Office Depot and across the Belk parking lot.
Is EBT accepted?
CHEF’STORE does not accept EBT benefits.
Does it have sales?
Biweekly specials discount certain items. Among the items on sale now are ground beef, chicken breasts, energy drinks, soda, bacon, apples, shrimp and macaroni and cheese.
Some Fayetteville residents recently received coupons for $15 off $50 in the mail.
Does it only sell in bulk?
Most items can be purchased in single quantities, rather than by the palette, and many items are sold in bulk and standard household sizes.
Can I order online?
Pickup and delivery are not yet available, but are expected to start soon, US Foods territory manager Debo Means said.
