US Marshals arrest man accused in Little Rock shooting in Ohio

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – U.S. Marshals arrested a  man in Cleveland, Ohio, last Friday who was wanted by Little Rock police in connection with a 2023 deadly shooting.

The U.S. Marshals Service said it had arrested 27-year-old Stephen Johnson on a warrant issued Dec. 3, 2023. Johnson was wanted by police in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Avron Britton on Nov. 27, 2023.

Little Rock police ID victim in deadly shooting on Boyle Park Road

According to Little Rock Police Department reports at the time, Britton was found lying in the road in the 2800 block of Boyle Park Road. He was discovered by officers responding to a shooting call.

Officials said Johnson is being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail awaiting extradition to Arkansas.

Investigators said this was the second arrest of an out-of-state fugitive in Ohio in 24 hours. Last Thursday, marshals arrested a man wanted on murder charges in Georgia.

The U.S. Marshals Service maintains a website for tips about fugitives. In some cases rewards are offered, officials said, and tipsters remain anonymous.
