US Military Releases Footage of Airstrikes Near Syria-Iraq Border

The United States military conducted airstrikes on facilities used by “Iran-backed militia groups” near the Iraq-Syria border on the night of June 27-28, they said, releasing this footage.

The Department of Defense said the targeted sites were used by several Iran-backed militia groups including Kata’ib Hezbollah and Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada “in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks against U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq.”

The “defensive precision airstrikes” were ordered by President Joe Biden, the Pentagon said.

At least seven members of the Popular Mobilization Front were killed in the strikes, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
