Details: Zelenskyy called Blinken’s visit to Kyiv an important signal and a guarantee that Ukraine will be able to liberate its temporarily occupied territories.

The President also expressed his gratitude and support to the US President Joe Biden, his Administration and the US Congress.

Quote: "Your team’s visit is an important signal, a confirmation that world leaders are supporting Ukraine in the war for our freedom, our democracy, our nation, our people, our land in the war against the Russian aggressor. We are grateful for this sign, for the great support you give us every day…

These are very important signals that the United States is with us. For us it is a guarantee that we will be able to liberate our territories".

Sources of Ukrainska Pravda also report that Blinken may also visit settlements near Kyiv.

Background: On 8 September, Joe Biden, the President of the United States, approved a new $675 million military aid package for Ukraine. The new package will include more high-precision GMLRS projectiles for HIMARS, 105mm howitzers, artillery ammunition, anti-radar HARM missiles, Humvee vehicles, anti-tank weapons, small arms and others.

Media reports that the Pentagon is preparing a detailed analysis and the Ukrainian army support plan in a medium-term and long-term perspective, including after the war with Russia has ended.
