US Senate nominee John Fetterman will hold a rally Friday at Bayfront Convention Center

Democratic U.S. Senate nominee John Fetterman will hold a rally at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie on Friday.

It is the first campaign event for Fetterman since he suffered a stroke on May 13.

His campaign released details over the weekend about the event on Fetterman's campaign website, at bit.ly/Fetterman_Aug12. The event will begin at the Convention Center, 1 Sassafras Pier, at 5:30 p.m. and is scheduled to last two hours. Admission is free and open to the public.

Fetterman, 52, is running against TV celebrity and GOP nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz for the open seat, currently held by Sen. Pat Toomey, R-PA, who is not running for re-election.

Fetterman announced on Friday that a rally would be held in Erie, but details about the location were just released.
