A few have now gathered together for Jones's funeral, including Chris Sullivan (Toby Damon), Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson), Jon Huertas (Miguel Rivas), Sterling K Brown (Randall Pearson) and Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson).

Sharing a picture of the five together on Instagram, Chris wrote of their late colleague: "We celebrated him as a #ThisIsUs family."

The actor went on to reveal what he learned from listening to Jones's daughter Jasmine and his friends speak: "1. Ron Cephas Jones may have been the most self-realized man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. And BY knowing himself so clearly, he could dedicate his life fully to his family, his friends and his art.

"2. Ron made his daughter feel loved and safe, by making space for her to fully express and realize HERself. In one memorial, I discovered everything I want to be as a father. #ripkingcephas."

In the original announcement of Jones's passing, a representative confirmed: "Throughout the course of his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.

"He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and his love for the stage was present throughout his entire career, including his recent Tony nominated and Drama Desk Award winning performance for his role in Clyde's on Broadway.

"Ron's inner-beauty and soul was evident to the huge audience from his multi-Emmy award winning performance on This Is Us. He is survived by his daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones."
