“We will provide the Ukrainians with what they need to strike selected targets on Ukrainian territory,” said the Pentagon’s Deputy Secretary for Political Affairs, Colin Cole, during a conference held by the Center for a New American Security in Washington.

“We expect these systems to be in combat soon. We are committed to continuing the supply of this military equipment."

According to Cole, the U.S. intelligence will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to effectively hit enemy targets without wasting extra ammunition.

This would be due, he said, to the extreme accuracy and power of the HIMARS and MLRS rocket artillery systems. He said their accuracy is comparable with that of precision air strikes.
