Josh Snow, M.S.H.A., was named as the new CEO following a national search, and officials said that he will contribute to improving the care and operations the hospital provides.

“Josh brings a strong track record of developing and launching healthcare services, which aligns closely with the rapid growth of USA Health, the region’s only academic health system,” said the vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama, John V. Marymont, M.D., M.B.A.

As an acute-care facility, USA Health University Hospital serves people in areas of Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. Snow notes that he wants to focus on providing high-quality healthcare to patients.

“I want the skill and scope of our care to be such that no one in the Gulf Coast region would have to – or want to – leave to get their medical problems solved elsewhere,” Snow said.

Owen Bailey, M.S.H.A., FACHE, the chief executive officer and senior associate vice president for medical affairs, said that he believes that Snow will be able to help in the area of patient care.

“Josh’s extensive experience leading hospital and medical group operations across the Southeast will support University Hospital’s efforts to provide world-class, compassionate care to people in our region,” Bailey said. “We welcome him to USA Health.”
