USC’s Colin Mobley withdraws from transfer portal

Colin Mobley offered a plot twist for USC. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman entered the transfer portal on Dec. 20. He became the eighth Trojan to do so this offseason.

Mobley was a three-star addition to USC’s 2021 recruiting class out of Hyattsville (Maryland) DeMatha Catholic.

Lincoln Riley and the Trojans’ defense made attempts to improve considerably this offseason. USC added defensive tackle Kyon Barrs from Arizona, and defensive end Jack Sullivan came over from Purdue. USC’s top transfer portal addition so far is former Texas A&M defensive end Anthony Lucas, a former five-star prospect and top 20 overall recruit.

Colin Mobley spent two uneventful years with the Trojans, playing 15 total snaps in three career appearances. He entered the transfer portal following his redshirt freshman season. He has three years of eligibility remaining.”

Mobley didn’t play a single snap in the 2022 season. In 2021 he made appearances in only three games and played just 15 snaps, but he will add depth to the Trojans’ defense next season.
