The USC Trojans are getting close to the top of the Pac-12 Conference and just won their fourth straight game by defeating Washington.

In the win against the Huskies, Tre White and Kobe Johnson stepped up when both Boogie Ellis and Drew Peterson struggled from the field and Vince Iwuchukwu was limited by foul trouble.

White led the Trojans with 22 points and 8 rebounds on 10-16 shooting from the field. Against Washington State a few days earlier, White scored 14 points to help Boogie and Peterson carry the workload.

As such, White was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after two impressive performances for a USC team already thin on the bench. It really needed someone from the supporting cast to deliver the goods. White was ready.

In total, White scored 36 points with 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the week.

In the eight games prior to the Washington State contest, White scored double digits just three times.

Joshua Morgan got injured, and Reese Dixon-Waters also missed the Washington game, forcing head coach Andy Enfield to rely more on White.

He answered the call, and the freshman should continue to see an increased role down the stretch, especially with the Trojans nipping at the heels of both Arizona and UCLA.

The Trojans are off until a huge game against Oregon on Thursday, and let’s see if Tre White can continue to play at a high level.
