It used to be Michael's diner. What to know about new restaurant coming to Bensalem

Bensalem foodies will soon have another choice location to consider when seeking fine dining.

The operators of the upscale Blue Sunday Bar & Grill restaurant chain are now on schedule to soon open its newest location this summer.

Blue Sunday II to open this summer in Bensalem

The restaurant, tentatively branded Blue Sunday II, is scheduled to open this summer at 3340 Street Road. Blue Sunday Bar & Grill specializes in American food, Asian cuisine and sushi.

Crews are currently renovating the former Michael's Diner, which stood at 3340 Street Road for 29 years before closing in 2021.

Legal counsel Paul Herron of the Philadelphia-based Kelly & Herron, P.C. firm confirmed the location should be ready in "three to four months," meaning Blue Sunday II could open around August.

The location will have a seating capacity of 160, which includes a 20-seat bar area. Additionally, there will be outdoor patio seating for up to 35 patrons.

Blue Sunday II will operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday; noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday; and from noon to 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Blue Sunday location in Bensalem furthers company's expansion, joins other new eateries

According to Blue Sunday Bar & Grill's website, its newest location will be the company's third such restaurant.

Blue Sunday also operates a restaurant in Bowie, MD, and is planning another in Linden, New Jersey.

Blue Sunday's newest location adds to a burgeoning restaurant scene in Bucks County.

The forthcoming Parx Casino Hotel in Bensalem will have two upscale restaurants, one in the lobby and another in the rooftop.

And Mexican-fusion restaurant Bubbakoo’s recently opened its newest location in the Center Point Place shopping center on Street Road in Warminster.
