🌱 USFL Season Launch In Birmingham + BCS Have Gone Remote

  1. USFL officially announced their season launch will take place in Birmingham on April 16 at Protective Stadium. Officials shared that the league will play all their 2022 regular-season games in Birmingham, agreed upon by the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center Authority and the Birmingham Park and Recreation Board. The league opener will be between the Birmingham Stallions and the New Jersey Generals. (Birmingham Patch)

  2. Birmingham City Schools have gone remote amid absences and teacher concerns. According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 304 students and 103 staff members have tested positive for COVID since Jan. 14. During remote learning, teachers have been working from home and providing students with work via remote platforms. (Birmingham Patch)

  3. A barrage of gunfire off of a busy Birmingham roadway left one man seriously wounded. Police reported the male victim was shot while inside his vehicle and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators found at least 15 shell casings at the crime scene, though no further details have been released. (AL.com)
