UT Austin students to compete in 'Jeopardy! High School Reunion Tournament'

Three University of Texas students are bringing their Longhorn pride to famous game show "Jeopardy!" next week.

Senior Alison Purcell, senior Rohan Kapileshwari and junior Anish Maddipoti are participating in "Jeopardy! High School Reunion Tournament," which features 27 former competitors from two Teen Tournaments hosted four seasons ago.

The 14-day event begins with five quarterfinal games from Feb. 20-24. Four more quarterfinal games and the first semifinal game will run Feb. 27-March 3. Finally, two more semifinal games and two finals will air March 6-9.

Purcell, a biology and Plan II honors double major, will compete Feb. 21. Kapileshwari, a mechanical engineering major, will compete Feb. 27. Maddipoti, a public health and Plan II honors double major, will round out the UT competitors with his game on Feb. 28.

All competitors are vying for a $100,000 prize. Last February, UT student Jaskaran Singh won "Jeopardy! National College Championship" and its $250,000 grand prize.
