UT Martin has a suggestion for Tennessee football minus goalposts: Move game to them

Tennessee football is without goalposts - albeit temporarily - but Saturday's opponent UT Martin has a solution. Play the game in Martin, Tennessee.

That was the suggestion of UT Martin Chancellor Keith Carver on Monday to counterpart UT Chancellor Donde Plowman.

"Hey @DondePlowman…if you don’t get those goalposts replaced in time, we’ll be happy to move next week’s game to @utmartin. It’s the least we can do," Carver wrote on Twitter.

The two goalposts were taken down by fans following Tennessee's upset of Alabama on Saturday at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols (5-0, 3-0 SEC) host UT Martin (4-2) on Saturday (noon, SEC Network).

Martin is a city in Weakley County, located in West Tennessee, and about 330 miles from Knoxville.

Hardy M. Graham Stadium, where UT Martin plays, has a capacity of 7,500.

Neyland Stadium, the home of the Vols, has an official capacity is 101,915 but can host more than that.

Carver's son, J.T. Carver, is a redshirt freshman placekicker for the Vols, too. He played at Westview High in Martin.
